Salmon Breakfast Ideas

Salmon Breakfast Scramble:

We all know and love scrambled eggs. But what about a salmon scramble? Adding this delicious fish to the dish will bring more lean protein and omega3-fatty acids to it. It’s a win-win both for flavor and nutrition! This recipe takes only 15 minutes. And it’s so easy you could almost prepare it with your eyes closed.

The ingredients for this healthy meal start with eggs and smoked salmon. From there, you can really add anything you want. We personally love red onion, sea salt, black pepper, olive oil, cream cheese, and capers. Want some extra veggies? Throw in spinach. More carbs? Sweet potato pairs deliciously with a salmon scramble. Once you’ve gathered all the ingredients, simply start by mixing the eggs, any veggies or starches, sea salt, black pepper, and your salmon in a bowl. Then heat a teaspoon of olive oil in a non-stick pan, over medium heat. Add the egg mixture to the pan and cook until the eggs are scrambled to your liking. Then turn off the heat and add any toppings such as cream cheese, or cheese of any kind really, capers, chives, whatever you prefer to finish off your dish!

Avocado Toast with Smoked Salmon and Poached Eggs:

This meal is just one of the classiest, fun for when you’re feeling fancy type of breakfast recipes. And it’s so delicious! Seriously, you'll crave it all day long! Avocado toast is a staple and smoked salmon is just too delicious to pass up on as a topping. The poached eggs on top give it the final touch, too. This recipe takes just 5 minutes to prepare, so it’s great for those busy mornings during the week!

The ingredients are super simple. All you’ll need is 2 slices of your go-to bread of choice, an avocado, lime juice, a pinch of salt, 2 eggs, 4 pieces of smoked salmon, and black pepper. First, toast the bread slices. Then, peel and cut the avocado in half. Add the flesh avocado to a bowl and smash it until a smooth paste forms. Throw in the lime juice and salt, then mix. Now boil a small pan of water and later leave it to simmer. Then poach the eggs and cook them for 3 minutes each. Finally, spread the avocado paste to the toasted bread and add the smoked salmon and poached eggs on top. You can totally get creative here and add other toppings as well. Think chopped or sliced onion, jalapeño, hemp seeds, honestly whatever you’re into!

Salmon Bagel:

Salmon pairs incredibly perfectly with a bagel. This one is super simple but you do have some options to spice things up. You can do the traditional lox style salmon bagel, or get crazy and add eggs, different veggies, dill spread, honestly anything goes. Simple Salmon With Traditional Breakfast Accompaniments:

Sometimes you just want to keep things simple, clean, and healthy. Especially at breakfast. If you’re not a big breakfast eater in the first place, going simple, clean, light, and lean might be your best bet. For this, we recommend you choose a simple cooked salmon whether it be raw, smoked, cured, baked, or seared. See a few different ways to cook salmon at home HERE. Honestly any type of salmon is fine for this dish. Then add any accompaniments that give it a more breakfast feel. You can do a single hard boiled or scrambled egg. Or a half an avocado plus some mixed berries. Even a grapefruit. Whatever you prefer. The goal here is to get a bit of lean protein and something you enjoy for breakfast. You’ll feel light, strong, and ready to take on your day.

Salmon Tartare on Toast:

We LOVE this one for breakfast. There is just something delicious about cold salmon in the morning. Pair with your favorite toast, we prefer sourdough if we’re being honest. All you need to do is make this salmon tartare recipe. You can make it the morning of or the night before. Then get some delicious sourdough bread, toast it, and top with the tartare. It’s SO delicious and truly a great way to start your day.

A salmon salad is a perfect breakfast for a summer morning. It’s healthy, delicious, and filling, so you can feel energized until lunchtime. Most salmon breakfast salads will take just a couple of minutes to throw together, but still pack a punch when it comes to flavor and nutrition. All you need is a bed of greens, your favorite toppings, a drizzle of some sort of dressing, seasoning, and boom you’re done.

We personally love this recipe with dill, everything bagel seasoning, lemon, and greek yogurt. Simply grab your salmon. You can use smoked salmon, grilled salmon, or baked salmon, whatever you prefer. Then place your salmon on a bed of greens. In a separate bowl, make some “dressing”. You'll grab a spoonful of plain greek yogurt as the dressing base. Add fresh dill, everything bagel seasoning, olive oil, and lemon. Stir to your desired consistency. Add the dressing to your salad with any desired toppings and boom you're done!

Baked Eggs with Hot-Smoked Salmon and Crème Fraîche:

Any hot-smoked salmon breakfast is an amazing way to start the day. This salmon recipe might take a little longer to prepare, but it’s perfect for a weekend brunch or when you have guests to impress. It takes around 45 minutes total and the final result is more than worth it.

You will need butter, hot-smoked salmon, shallots, sea salt, crème fraîche, heavy cream, fresh dill, lemon zest, eggs, and smoked salmon. Start by melting the butter in a pan over medium heat. Then stir in the shallots and salt, and cook until soft for 7 minutes. Add the cream, crème fraîche, dill, and lemon zest. Remove from heat after mixing it thoroughly. Now divide the mixture into small bowls. Crack 2 eggs and add the hot-smoked salmon on top of each. Bake for around 15 minutes, until the egg whites are firm but the yolk is slightly runny. Enjoy!

Baked Salmon Frittata:

A salmon frittata is a brilliant dish. It has all the delicious goodness from a hot and tasty quiche. The only difference is you skip the crust and cook it in a skillet instead. And this baked salmon frittata will make your taste buds tingle! All you need is 25 minutes and an appetite prepared to chow down.

The ingredients for this salmon recipe are butter, leftover baked salmon, red onion, sea salt, eggs, black pepper, fresh ricotta, chives, olive oil, and lemon juice. To begin, heat the butter on a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add the onions and cook for 7 minutes until tender. While the onion is cooking, whisk the eggs, salt, and black pepper. Then stir the mixture into the pan, incorporating the buttered onions. Add the salmon, and spoon the ricotta and chives on top. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the bottom has set. Now transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 10 to 15 minutes. Drizzle with olive oil and lemon before serving. And done!
